There are a number of fixes as well. The entire changeset is pretty big, but most of it is code movement. Several of these commits are quite new; the history got very messed up due to a mismerge with the urgent changes for rc8 which completely broke IA64, and so Ingo requested that we rebase it to straighten it out." * 'x86-efi-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip: efi: remove "kfree(NULL)" efi: locking fix in efivar_entry_set_safe() efi, pstore: Read data from variable store before memcpy() efi, pstore: Remove entry from list when erasing efi, pstore: Initialise 'entry' before iterating efi: split efisubsystem from efivars efivarfs: Move to fs/efivarfs efivars: Move pstore code into the new EFI directory efivars: efivar_entry API efivars: Keep a private global pointer to efivars efi: move utf16 string functions to efi.h x86, efi: Make efi_memblock_x86_reserve_range more readable efivarfs: convert to use simple_open()

The be2net driver had a bug fix in 'net' that overlapped with the VLAN interface changes by Patrick McHardy in net-next. An IGB conflict existed because in 'net' the build_skb() support was reverted, and in 'net-next' there was a comment style fix within that code. Several batman-adv conflicts were resolved by making sure that all calls to batadv_is_my_mac() are changed to have a new bat_priv first argument. Eric Dumazet's TS ECR fix in TCP in 'net' conflicted with the F-RTO rewrite in 'net-next', mostly overlapping changes. It is useful also to wake the socket if it is in the error list, which would enable software to wait on error queue packets without waking up for regular data on the socket. The main use case is for receiving timestamped transmit packets which return the timestamp to the socket via the error queue. This enables an application to select on the socket for the error queue only instead of for the regular traffic. -v2- * Added the SO_SELECT_ERR_QUEUE socket option to every architechture specific file * Modified every socket poll function that checks error queue Signed-off-by: Jacob Keller <jacob.e.keller@intel.com> Cc: Jeffrey Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com> Cc: Richard Cochran <richardcochran@gmail.com> Cc: Matthew Vick <matthew.vick@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the Marvell MV643XX ethernet driver to use the Marvell Orion MDIO driver. As a result, PowerPC and ARM platforms registering the Marvell MV643XX ethernet driver are also updated to register a Marvell Orion MDIO driver. This driver voluntarily overlaps with the Marvell Ethernet shared registers because it will use a subset of this shared register (shared_base + 0x4 to shared_base + 0x84). The Ethernet driver is also updated to look up for a PHY device using the Orion MDIO bus driver. For ARM and PowerPC we register a single instance of the "mvmdio" driver in the system like it used to be done with the use of the "shared_smi" platform_data cookie on ARM. Note that it is safe to register the mvmdio driver only for the "ge00" instance of the driver because this "ge00" interface is guaranteed to always be explicitely registered by consumers of arch/arm/plat-orion/common.c and other instances (ge01, ge10 and ge11) were all pointing their shared_smi to ge00. For PowerPC the in-tree Device Tree Source files mention only one MV643XX ethernet MAC instance so the MDIO bus driver is registered only when id == 0. Currently, only SPARC and PowerPC has similar output as in the reference implementation on x86_64. Make a small helper function in order to reduce duplicated code and make the dump output uniform across architectures x86_64, SPARC, PPC, ARM (e.g. on ARM flen, pass and proglen are currently not shown, but would be interesting to know as well), also for future BPF JIT implementations on other archs. This is not safe in a preemptible kernel; preemption should ideally be disabled. BUG: using smp_processor_id() in preemptible [00000000] code: systemd-modules/367 caller is ns2cycles+0x40/0xb8 Starting stack dump of tid 367, pid 367 (systemd-modules) on cpu 2 at cycle 20969956421 frame 0: 0xfffffff70004b860 dump_stack+0x0/0x20 (sp 0xfffffe407993fa90) frame 1: 0xfffffff7006abc28 debug_smp_processor_id+0x1a8/0x1e0 (sp 0xfffffe407993fa90) frame 2: 0xfffffff7004d7b40 ns2cycles+0x40/0xb8 (sp 0xfffffe407993fab8) frame 3: 0xfffffff7004dc578 __ndelay+0x38/0x80 (sp 0xfffffe407993fae0) However, in this case: - the frequency is the same accross all cores - we use the data read-only - we do not scale the frequency Which means that we can use the __raw_get_cpu_var instead.
