* [smbios] Provide a null SMBIOS API for platforms with no concept of SMBIOSMichael Brown2024-10-251-0/+1
| | | | Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [smbios] Support scanning for the 64-bit SMBIOS3 entry pointMichael Brown2023-12-291-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Support scanning for the 64-bit SMBIOS3 entry point in addition to the 32-bit SMBIOS2 entry point. Prefer use of the 32-bit entry point if present, since this is guaranteed to be within accessible memory. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [linux] Use generic sysfs mechanism to read SMBIOS tableMichael Brown2021-03-021-0/+1
| | | | Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [smbios] Add support for the 64-bit SMBIOS3 entry pointMichael Brown2020-12-291-4/+47
| | | | | | | Support UEFI systems that provide only 64-bit versions of the SMBIOS entry point. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [smsc95xx] Fetch MAC from SMBIOS OEM string for Honeywell VM3Michael Brown2016-01-041-0/+3
| | | | | | | The Honeywell VM3 has no attached EEPROM, and records the MAC address within an SMBIOS OEM string. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [legal] Relicense files under GPL2_OR_LATER_OR_UBDLMichael Brown2015-03-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | These files cannot be automatically relicensed by util/relicense.pl since they either contain unusual but trivial contributions (such as the addition of __nonnull function attributes), or contain lines dating back to the initial git revision (and so require manual knowledge of the code's origin). Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [smbios] Expose board serial number as ${board-serial}Dale Hamel2014-06-121-0/+17
| | | | | | | | With blade servers, the chassis serial number (exposed via ${serial}) may not be unique. Expose ${board-serial} as a named setting to provide easy access to a more meaningful serial number. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [linux] Provide access to SMBIOS via /dev/memMichael Brown2013-12-051-0/+2
| | | | Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [smbios] Allow access to multiple instances of SMBIOS structuresMichael Brown2013-05-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Extend the syntax for numerical SMBIOS settings from smbios/<type>.<offset>.<length> to smbios/[<instance>.]<type>.<offset>.<length> Where SMBIOS provides multiple structures with the same <type>, this extended syntax allows for access to structures other than the first. If <instance> is omitted then it will default to zero, giving access to the first instance (and so matching existing behaviour). The 16-bit SMBIOS handle (which is an alternative way to disambiguate multiple instances of the same type of structure) can be accessed, if required, using smbios/<instance>.<type>.2.2:uint16 Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [smbios] Provide SMBIOS version number via smbios_version()Michael Brown2013-03-201-0/+12
| | | | Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [linux] Add empty smbiosPiotr Jaroszyński2010-08-191-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | There exists an smbios userspace library so implementing this is probably possible, but doesn't seem really important to have in userspace. Hence provide a dummy implementation returning an error. Signed-off-by: Piotr Jaroszyński <p.jaroszynski@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [build] Rename gPXE to iPXEMichael Brown2010-04-191-0/+161
Access to the gpxe.org and etherboot.org domains and associated resources has been revoked by the registrant of the domain. Work around this problem by renaming project from gPXE to iPXE, and updating URLs to match. Also update README, LOG and COPYRIGHTS to remove obsolete information.
